1 Samuel 18:5
And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants.
Behaving Wisley!
For the Christian it is important that we behave wisley every day! Many people point out some neighbor that is NOT behaving like a wise Christian. They state I am not as bad as "holy Joe" he acts worse than me and He claims to be a Christian!
I ask you to day to consider three things that happen to us when we BEHAVE WISLEY!
1. We behave wisley when we are obedient!
"He (David) went out whithersoever Saul sent him"
It is not always easy to be obedient when we are constantly being asked to go, go , go! When the boss is a tyrant and the deadlines are looming we must remember to be obedient and behave wisley!
2. We behave wisley and we gain leadership roles!
"Saul set him over the men of war"
A benefit to Behaving Wisley is that we will gain a leadership role! I believe that most people are searching for someone to lead them in a wise manner. We are living in a time where true leadership is rare.
It is upmost important for us to Behave Wisley, God may need you to lead an unit of men in his war against the enemy of souls! Most want to be promoted for the glitz and fame but don't want to put in the effort to learn how to Behave Wisley
3. We behave wisley and are given Influence over men.
"He (David) was accepted in the sight of ALL the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants."
Because we Behave Wisley we will be accepted in the sight of all men. Since All have sinned, ALL need someone to tell them how to be saved! No exceptions God told us to go to all creatures. Our message may not be received but those who we tell will not be able to accuse us of not Behaving Wisley" (God said that when we win souls we are wise!)
Also "Servants" will accept us.
True servants of God will notice that we Behave Wisley and some will look to us for an example.
May God allow us to BEHAVE WISLEY!
