Philippians 4:10
But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
Not only am I blessed to be in full time Missionary service, we get to participate in systematic giving so others may hear the gospel We also know what the Apostle is talking about, We know It is because of our faithful prayers and financial support through our church, others are sustained.
Today we will see this verse in the viewpoint of giving.
From the giving viewpoint.
Because we have a gift to give, I "rejoice in the lord, greatly." God has always blessed me beyond what I expect or deserve, we are blessed to be able to give to others. Because of our consistent giving, I can see the latest round of gifts as a God given way for me to have a small part in blessing someone else. I get excited to realize that in short order some other servant will be provided for. I thank God that there may be a servant that can echo the Apostles statement "the now at the last your care of me hath flourished."
I give these gifts knowing that I am making an investing in the work of God. I must be "careful" to give these gift wisely. God is pleased, when his children are careful in managing resources.
I desire to become more involved in ministries that God is blessing, but sometimes I have not had the "opportunity". I trust that as I am faithful to give, God will increase the ability for me to be able to give more and more.
I am a receiver and a giver, I get the best of both worlds. Are you giving and receiving?
