Psalm 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Why do we make knowing God's will such a mystery! Why do we put undue emphasis on the "call", as if it is some great revelation to only be understood by clergy?
Every Christian has a call from God! Every Christian has a job to do for God! Every Christian that thinks that their responsibility is to fill the same spot on a pew for the next 20, 30, 40, or 50+ years without any movement, without any action is or has been misled.
Christians should be recognized as the most industrious of all humans when it comes to godly things. We need to be seen like a bunch of ants that just had their mounds disturbed, where every soul has a specific job to do to right the urgent situation of life.
I am thankful that I am being used of God, working His will, and being blessed daily. I am so under equipped to do what I am doing. I am not a professional in any sense of the word, I have been as faithful to follow the leading of God. He has never let me down, even when I have let him down. The promise for us today keeps me going. Today's promise gives you...the average Joe hope, like I have hope. Let's look at this:
I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go.
As our relationship grows with God, we begin to see Him lead us through a variety of ways. His word, his people, a sermon, a seen need, a prompting from the Spirit.
We see two facts in this first part of this verse. "I will instruct thee" God always gives us instructions first. Sometimes it is written form, other times he brings us through experiences that shape us to be the right fit to do the task He desires us to accomplish. God has instore for us many ways to give us proper instructions to fit us to be all He wants us to be.
Also He tells us that He will, "Teach thee in the way which thou shalt go" I can speak for my own life as I serve God, He is ever changing me. He tweaks and adjusts me and the enviorment I work in. I am challenged daily to do better, smarter, more effective ministry for Him. I am in God's "Higher" education program.
I will guide thee with mine eye.
Many times people tell me how busy thay are for God. They go on and on about the quantity of service and the ammount of time spent in going from service to service, conference to conference, I get tired just listening to their schedule. I simply ask them can you show me scripture to endorse their calling. I ask them to give me examples from God's Holy Word to support their choices and justify their schedules. Most can not! (I am guilty of this very thing at times myself).
Every call of God on His children will be by the leading of the Holy Spirit, and backed up by the Word of God. The Word of God is the eye that guides. If we want the eye to eye perspective that God has, we must be in the Word! If we get lost in the shuffle, go to the Word, If we get too busy in service, get back to the Word. If we need to be taught how, go to the Word.
I am thankful for the instruction, and the teaching God provides to me. I am thankful for the guiding God gives through His eye (The Bible).
Are you instructed, taught, and guided by God
