The Lord Thy God!

Deuteronomy 8:7-10
For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;
A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.
When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

Have you ever stopped to think how you got to the place in life where you are currently at. I am amazed to look back at my life and see how every twist and turn that shaped me and tempered me to be equipped to do what I am doing for the Lord.

The precious promises of God are almost to much to take in. Most people believe that God is a big bad figure in the sky waiting to squash them out at the slightest wrong doing they commit. God is nothing like that and has always been our biggest cheerleader. A quick look at our scripture this morning reveals the generosity and love God has for us.

...God bringeth thee into a good land.

The economy of the Bible was agricultural, to own good land was indeed a blessing that gave security and wealth.

A land of brooks, of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills,

This is a clear deed description of the previous promise. It is a beautiful painting that sets for us the maginitude of God's love for us in vivid detail. A land of brooks = flowing water is a staple of life, clean cool water that is fresh and new everytime. Fountians = unexpected blessings to be found in the time of need. The picture shows that God is even concerned about the sights and sound we see and hear, the landscape is varried and has substance. Praise His Holy Name!

A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey.

Again the scroll of the individual blessing are described before us. The promise is more than a deed it has blessings that are untold! The blessings are internal as well. God gives us a daily sustainment. Look at the grocery list; Wheat, barley, vines (grapes), fig trees, pomegranates, A land of olive oil, and honey.

A top notch, three course meal with desert! What more could you ask for. My heart is filled beyond its capacity! Thank you God!

A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.

I just asked what more could you ask for? God anticipated that question and give us more and more! Look at the further promises. A land where thou shalt eat bread without scarceness = plenty of bread, no hunger. Thou shalt not lack any thing: If everything above is not enough than this tops it off, will NOT lack ANY Thing in it. Stones of iron... mayest dig brass. = strength in the financial world. industrial wealth is the strongest kind of wealth! Praise the Lord (again)

When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

America is a blessed nation for sure, but we have not given enough blessing back to God who provided all this for us! Notice God allows us to take all this in, to consume it all and in return only asks a simple thing! God wants us to bless him!

This morning I am blessing the Lord my God for the place he has put me, He is worthy of my praise because of the way he has blessed me beyond anything I deserve!

HOW ABOUT YOU! Are you blessing the Lord for what He has given you...?
