My God!

Psalm 7:1
O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

I am enjoying these blogs, It is a blessing to allow the Lord to bless me in a systematic way. If you have never tried this form of studying the Bible, try it!

If you have been in any kind of battle, spiritual, mental, physical, relational, or any kind of conflict this verse will speak to you in a real way. The writer is praising God. He makes a bold statement of faith and then revels his opponent. Finally he asks for deliverance.

O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust:

Such a bold reminder of where our trust should be. It is in the Lord! The writer is specific in the words he chooses to praise the Lord. He uses a formal form of one of the many names of God. He uses the personal intimate name "Lord my God". I think that the simple expression that starts this verse "O" expresses how close the Lord God is to him

We need to be so involved in our daily relationship with the Lord that we can express our full trust in the Lord my God to the point we cry out "O Lord!"

Save me from all them that persecute me,

It does not matter the type of persecution we face we can not continue to fight them off in our own strength. One tradition I experienced in the Military was when I was promoted to Sergeant, it involved about 8 soldiers attacking me. They wanted to throw me in a canal to wet down my new stripe. I fought a good fight but they won and I ended up in the water and wore out. The enemy will do this to us1 we need the Lord God to save us!

And, deliver me.

The difference between major problems and minor problems is when you are going through you problem it is minor, and when I am going through it, it is a major problem. This personal plea is for the Lord God to deliver me!

We all need the Lord God to put our trust in, we need the Lord God to save us from persecution, and we all need the Lord to deliver us.

Whom do you trust?
