Why, O Mighty Man?

Psalm 52:1
Why boaseth thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

I would rather get up in the morning and have everything go my way. I would rather get up and get a little blessing from God's Word to start my day! I would rather not have to deal with a skinning of my hide! The Psalmist under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit give us a scolding we probably deserve, and if we are honest with ourselves we would say we are over due in correcting our walk with God!

Why boasteth thyself in mischief, O mighty man?
As a Christian we more than likely would never brag about sinning against God! We would be floored if a Christian friend told us that he did such and such that is sinful and got away with it. We would probably back away from them waiting to see the judgment of God to fall upon them. Yet we go on in our daily activities knowing we have slipped away from close relationship with God by our own actions.

Christians (me included) are very good at justifying our sin, while looking down upon our friends indiscretions. We need to check our own walk and relationship with God! He is asking us "Why?"

The goodness of God endureth continually.
I believe the number one reason as a child of God to check up and maintain a very close relationship is because of the "Goodness of God!" If we have been save for any length of time at all, we have experienced enough of the "Goodness of God" to make us want to keep the road of blessings open at all times!

We should read this Psalm and seriously examine our relationship with God
