2 Samuel 9:3
And the King said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the King, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
We have before us one of the greatest examples of reaching out to find one to share the mercy of God to.
David never forgets that he owes a debt to those who have not had it so good. David remembers that even though Saul was an enemy, he owed all that he had become humanly speaking to the trouble, trials, and good times he had with Saul and his household.
We are allowed to go through a refining process that uses the everyday experiences of life to shape us, reflecting just what God desires us to become. He uses people of strife, and kindness, and people whose abrasiveness rubs us wrong. God uses our friendships to polish us to perfection.
1. Is there not yet any?
This should become our rally cry. Everyday we should seek the Lord to lead us to anyone that needs to have the "Kindness of God" displayed to them. The world is full of folks who need the salvation of the Lord! As you begin your day would you ask the Lord if there is "Not yet any?"
2. Hath yet a son which is lame on his feet.
We need to remind ourselves that it is our responsibility to take the world the gospel! The world will never come to the King of Kings, on their own accord. The world needs to be viewed as being "lame on their feet"
Christians need to wake up to the simple fact that the world is lost! God sent His son to die for the sins of the whole world! Jesus Christ the son of God commanded that we must go to the world, telling them how to receive His free gift of salvation, because the world is "lame on its feet" because their sin has disabled them
We should ask God everyday "is there not yet any?"
We should thank God for allowing us to go to those that are "Lame of their feet."
