2 Samuel 7:10
Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and I will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
This third installment of "Pass In Review" reveals the details of what David can expect in the future. I sure appreciate the lord! he reveals enough of His will to give us hope to keep on keeping on. David is in a transition phase of his life and is thinking toward the future and also who his history will be written. God is so great He gives another round of precious promises.
Any real leader concerns himself with the overall welfare of his followers. God shows how much he care in the details of these promises. God promises David:
1. I will appoint a place for my people..., and will plant them.
It has been stated that owning a home is the American Dream. I think that it is a dream that is universal. A place to call home... A place that is uniquely yours! where you are most comfortable and can relax in the assurance that this is my Place.
my place is a wonderful place to be. I want to be able to take root. The Lord promises he will appoint a place for His people and that He will allow them to be planted.
I am thankful that God has an appointed place for me in Heaven. and since I am just a Pilgrim passing through the earth, Some sweet day I will be planted within sight of my Dear Savior.
2. They will dwell in a place of their own, and move no more.
My dear wife and I have moved a lot I think it has been about 22 or 23 times in the 31 years of marriage. We work among the Army at Fort Benning, Georgia, These men and Women, and their families are moving every 2 to 4 years during their career.
I am tired of moving! I am tired of living renting from others! Bless the Lord1, He is giving me a place to call my own. He promises I do not need to worry about moving on up because I will be there and He said I will move no more.
3. Neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime.
I thank the Lord for a good place to live, He has blessed me with more than I deserve. But!, every once and a while things happen in the neighborhood I live in that drives me crazy. You know, the neighbor's dog barks only when you want to sleep. The other neighbor thinks your yard is a parking lot for his party that will drone on until the early AM.
what about the punks that fling a rock into your back window of your car? or the hoodlums that spray the paint balls on the vehicles you just waxed.
I must laugh out loud! You see the Lord gave me a promise that he has appointed a place for me. He will plant me next to Him. He will allow me to dwell in my own place, where I will not need to move away, and the best part is He and He alone will provide 24 / 7 security!
Thank God for this review of what He is doing for us!
