To Trust Or Not To Trust! that is the question

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Everyday we get a re-do! We go to sleep and then wake up to make a decision as to whether we will trust the Lord for everything or not.

I struggle with this easy task. Sometimes I start out fine, then get tangled up to realize I have blown it. This task is an easy one that most people fail. I have for years seen the bumper sticker that reads "Let go and let God!" simple enough but difficult to implement!

Our passage can be easily broken down like this!

1. Trust in the Lord
The Lord is our biggest cheerleader. He wants us to succeed more than we want to! He is kind, gentle, and loving. He is a corrector, and instructor. He love us beyond anything we could ever imagine. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He can be trusted! He never fails. The Lord is worthy of our trust!

With all thine heart. The more time we spend with the Lord the easier it is to give him all our heart. Love is a two way street, but the Lord has already paved the way for us! God cares for us and all he wants in return is our Heart and Trust. Are you trusting the Lord with all your heart?

2. Don't trust our own understanding.
My way of thinking is skewed. I have my own set of values and when I trust them I usually get into trouble. I have a warped sense of humor. I see and understand things differently than my wife. My understanding is flawed at best, and down right wrong most of the time. It is better to allow God to help me than to try going it alone. God warns us that our own understanding will lead to trouble! It is better to stay away from my own understanding! I think I'll do it God's way.

3. Acknowledge Him in all our ways
When we allow God to control our every movement, we will begin to see He is at work for our good. We need to moment by moment acknowledge God in all our ways. He controls the circumstances so He can direct us His way. So why not acknowledge Him, today?

4. He shall direct thy paths.
When we are guided by the Lord, we will be exactly where he needs us to be to bring the blessings of life. He makes our life worth living, He gives us purpose, drive, and success. He allows difficulties to sharpen us for better service. He leads us, making the best of every day.

Trust in the Lord! He shall direct thy path!
