Isaiah 65:23
They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.
The fall planting season is here. I travel a lot and see the results of seeds. I see plots of corn that have neat signage that identifies them as to what type of seed they are. These seeds are engineered to produce more with less resources. These seeds are designed to weather the elements well and to tolerate the adverse situations that are in the areas where they are planted.
I have taken tours of agricultural experimental stations. these labs are equipped to make their product better. God has His own lab to develop us into hybrid producers of fruit.
As we prepare to be planted in God's field today, let's look at this promise.
They shall not labor in vain.
God promises us a great promise of productivity if we submit to His will for our life. God is our biggest cheerleader! He has more at stake in our success than we do. God wants to use His children to be the seed that is hyper productive. The world is hungry for the Bread of Life, and we are the staff of life, that produces the ingredient the delivers the Bread of Life to the Hungry world.
Nor bring forth for trouble.
Our labor is to be ultra productive, it is not to bring forth trouble. God will develop His seed to be pleasant and sweet to the partakers of His love. I often think that the reason we do not see huge numbers of people being saved is due to the fact that the seed that could be used to bring forth fruit is too busy bringing forth trouble.
For they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord.
Every born again person is the seed of the Lord. The over stated complement is that we are blessed of the Lord. In the same fashion that the agricultural station develops a better seed for the farmer and prepares a mass amount of this good seed to plant a great harvest, so God also blesses His seed as he distributes it in a hungry world.
and their offspring with them.
The agricultural community realizes that the super seed they produce today may not make it to the next generation of growth. The rapid changing world and the diseases that attack the new seed kills off the benefits of the investment made in it. God promises that the next generation will continue in a bigger and better way. The production results of God's seed will only increase as the next generation is planted into the needy world.
The older I get, the more excited I get as I see the next generation of God's seed start producing their own harvest.
What kind of seed are you? I am blessed!
