Then The Word!

Jeremiah 1:4
Then the word of the Lord came unto me saying.

Last night I taught the first of three lessons on the Bible. We are attempting to condense a series of stand alone lessons that are discipleship in nature. It is hard for this old Baptist Preacher to get a lot of ground covered in about 20 minutes.

After praying about the direction and some godly counsel from a great pastor friend, God moved my direction to His word. I ask you to pray that some aspect of these lessons will take hold and root in the soldiers that hear them. I pray that some of these new Christian soldiers will leave Fort Benning better prepared in their personal walk with the Lord.

I believe that it was wise to start teaching about the Bible, because it is an important key to a sustained relationship with God. The Bible is our life-line, our communication connection, and it reveals to us the heart beat of our savour.

This morning these 10 words jumped off the page.

Then the word.

A bold proclamation! It settles any argument, it is the final authority, it is a rock that holds, a place to latch on to in times of trouble. I am so thankful, that God sets His word as the supreme finality. Then the WORD!

The word of the Lord.

God tells us that His word is the final authority, and then so there is no confusion, he clarifies just who's words are authoritative! The Word of the LORD! I have in my sinful hands, the perfect sinless word of the Lord! I can see the love and care that my maker bestowed on me in His creation of my life. I can see that the Lord provide everything I ever have a need for contained within the word He gave me. I cherish the word of My LORD! I boldly shout.... I HAVE THE WORD OF THE LORD!

The word of the Lord came unto me.

Just think how honored I am to see this post script that addresses this precious book to me specifically. I do not deserve one moment of time from the God of the universes. I do not merit any consideration from the savior that I have shunned time, and time again.

We have before us this day a sweet statement that God, sent his word to me! To have his word as my own! He made His word come to me, I could not go to it, so He sent it to me! Praise His holy name. I have His WORD!

Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying.

Every one of can claim this great promise as our very own. God sends us His word. It comes to us, and when we open His word to study it it will speak loudly to us! God uses His word speaking to us His direction.

What Is The WORD Saying To You?
