Bless The Lord At All Times!

Psalm 34:1
1I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

I believe that most people think that if they repeat three words, they have entered into a grand worship time with the Lord. saying a few words out loud does not change anything, but it is a start. Lets look at this verse;

I will bless the Lord at all times:

My first thought about this verse made me think about my youth. I joined a couple of groups, one was the local 4-H club. Their motto involves 4 key areas.

"Heart" The first thing the Lord needs from us to be able to worship and bless Him at all times, is our heart. The most essential part of blessing the Lord is to surrender our heart to Him. We must give our hearts to Him for His salvation. He wants us to abandon our sinful ways and adopt His ways. We need to allow the Lord to re-make our heart, in order to be a blessing to His Holy Name!

"Head" To bless the Lord at all times, you must put your head into it. It is through the studying of the Word of God, we begin to get a working knowledge of just who the Lord is! It helps us to understand Him! What He is!, and what He wants from us!

"Hands" The ability to be a blessing to the Lord at all times, involves action! Not because the action will save us, but because He saved our soul and redeemed our life, our natural reaction should be to give our hands in loving service to Him and especially to the lost that need to hear and experience the saving grace the Lord offers!

"Health" Our health represent the simple fact that a saved child of God has "Eternal Health" Because of God's salvation, which promises us that we will spend eternity with Him in heaven. Sickness may ravage our physical bodies, but sickness can not harm this eternal life. a Christian can confidently offer this great gift to others that need it most.

So!, to bless the Lord at all times is much more than 3 words! To say, I will bless the Lord at all times is a way of everyday living!

His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

The second part of this verse will occur as we change our lifestyle in conformity to the revealed Word of God! The more we see Him interacting in us, the more praise will flow out of our lips! Our mouth will spill out with a continual praise fest to the Most Holy God!

I desire to bless the Lord at all times, and want my mouth to speak a continual praise! Do you?

  1. Thanks so much for this good and needed reminder! It's still morning, so I can still start the day off, blessing and thanking the Lord for all He provides -- sometimes blessings from Him are disguised as lessons, for patience, endurance, and learning! God is good, all the time -- often quoted, but how often believed? May God bless you all today!
