Psalm 31:1
1In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
I love these very positive affirmations of God's love! These statements of trust and admiration fuel my soul! The Psalmist speaks volumes in a few words! In our present economy and world situation it is more advantageous for us to hang all our trust and devotion on the One who is worthy... Thank you my Lord Jesus Christ!
In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust;
Just review the word "trust" and you will reap a box load of understanding!
1. reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.
2.confident expectation of something; hope.
3.confidence in the certainty of future payment for property or goods received.
4.a person on whom or thing on which one relies: God is my trust.
5.the condition of one to whom something has been entrusted.
6.the obligation or responsibility imposed on a person in whom confidence or authority is placed: a position of trust.
7.charge, custody, or care: to leave valuables in someones trust.
8.something committed or entrusted to one's care for use or safekeeping, as an office, duty, or the like; responsibility; charge.
9.Law.
a. a fiduciary relationship in which one person (the trustee) holds the title to property (the trust estate or trust property) for the benefit of another (the beneficiary).
b. the property or funds so held
Never let me be ashamed.
Another word to look at in this verse is "Ashamed" the dictionary sheds a lot of light on this word.
1. feeling shame; distressed or embarrassed by feelings of guilt, foolishness, or disgrace: He felt ashamed for having spoken so cruelly.
2. unwilling or restrained because of fear of shame, ridicule, or disapproval: They were ashamed to show their work.
Deliver me in thy righteousness.
Since I am on a roll with definitions of words, lets look up two!
"Deliver"
1. to carry and turn over to the intended recipient
2. to give into another possession or keeping; surrender: to deliver a prisoner to the police; to deliver a bond.
3. to bring to the support of a candidate or a cause.
4. to give forth in words; utter or pronounce: to deliver a verdict; to deliver a speech.
5. to give forth or emit.
6. to strike or throw: to deliver a blow.
7. to set free or liberate: The Israelites were delivered from bondage.
8. to release or save.
"righteousness"
1. the quality or state of being righteous.
2. righteous conduct.
3. the quality or state of being just or rightful: They came to realize the righteousness of her position on the matter.
All these expressive words to tell the Lord: "I Love You, Lord!"

That is good stuff, and it is the core of who we are in Christ and who He wants us to be. To just rely on Him, to trust Him, to be the object of our faith and hope and trust; when that is in sinc, we have nothing else to be concerned about.
