Psalm 32:1
1Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
When I read this, my mind instantly went to one of those old movies, a light hearted musical with a carefree couple spinning around a ballroom, dancing because everything has worked out and the scene ends with the couple living happily ever after!
Life has so many pit falls, up one moment, down the next! Emotions that run the gambit, releasing hormonal chemicals to drain our strength. The news is bad, the immediate seems to be bleak! What can we possibly do? God knows and cared! so He gave us this verse!
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven.
Just to think that I can have a guarantee of forgiveness! I can hold clear title to a redeemed name. I have a document that clears everything up! It spells out the total condition of my release from the prison of doom to the wonderful world of bliss in the loving kindness showered on me when the Savior washed my sins away with the covering of them with His Blood!
The word "Transgression" is a deep word, the simple meaning of this word is; A violation of the law, command, or duty that God commands. I believe this word goes beyond the idea of sin to the very act and attitude of our sinful nature. This word is a filthy word when spoken about us by the Lord Jesus Christ, so , when we receive the actual forgiveness from the sins that seek to separate us from His love, it is a blessed thing.
To be forgiven is perhaps the greatest of all actualities! God grants us a pardon from the punishment we deserve from our sins! Could it get any better? I am blessed!
Whose sin is covered!
I realize just how nasty my sins are and is, when the Lord forgives them! I am so unworthy to have this great reward in my life! I have the assurance that my sins are gone but, I still know what I did! How do I move past that fact?
I can move past this fact because I can point to the sins and show you the blood! It is through the Blood that the Lord Jesus Christ shed on Calvary's tree that assures me the complete cleansing of my sinful past, present, and future. Because the blood of my Savior has been applied to my account, I am forgiven! He has it all covered...
