The Mighty God!

Psalm 50:1
The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

What a comforting Psalm this is! You would need to read the whole Psalm to get the full impact. This morning I will concentrate on this single verse. I have three sons. I understand how hard it was to call them all at one time, it was just as hard to get them to listen when I called just one individual. It blows me away to think of the greatness of God as he call not just one, but the whole world.

The mighty God.
What a wonderful praise this is. I plan on using these three small words all day to lift up the blessed attributes of God Almighty. God is mighty to save, mighty to love, mighty to forgive, mighty to hear, mighty to act, mighty to love, mighty to heal, mighty to feel, mighty to show compassion, mighty to be mighty, mighty, mighty, mighty! The best one word definition would be "Extreme"

Even the Lord hath spoken.
If we ever begin to grasp the mightiness of God, it would quickly lead us to the power the Godhead in It's spoken word! The earth and all that is in it came into existence through the spoken word of the Lord. There was an old T.V. commercial that said something like this "When E. F. Hutton speaks people listen!" I submit to you that when "The Lord speaks, we should listen." The Lord only speak through His word (which He spoke into the ears of the writers). I get a little weary of people talking about the Lord speaking to them and they can not substantiate it with one passage of Scripture. It is early in this morning, do you know where your Bible is, Has the Lord spoken to you today?

And called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
From the beginning of time the Lord God has been calling to a lost doomed world to be reconciled to Him, through the death, burial, and Resurrection of God's only begotten son, Jesus Christ. God has not given up on saving His creation, if you are reading this blog it is not too late for you to take advantage of this great offer from the Great God! I encourage you to secure this great gift of salvation from the Great God right now. This verse tells us about a soon coming time when this world will experience the final going down of the sun,

Can you see why I want to praise the Lord by telling Him He is "The Mighty GOD!"
