2 Samuel 7:25
And Now, O Lord God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
The word of God, His precious promises, His judgments, instructions, and show of loving kindness is evident in every page, verse, and word!
David is beginning to praise the Lord for the promises that God has made to him. He is overwhelmed at the details outlined for his house. The love of God is strong and overpowering the senses, the heart is swelled to capacity. From the full heart comes the verbiage of love.
1. The word that thou hast spoken.
The spoken word of God from eternity past is all the evidence we need to prove the power of God on human paths of life.
God still uses his voice to calm our wayward soul. He prods and pokes, He pleads and promises, He yells and whispers. He reassures us with the loving voice of a Father! The word of God "IS"!
2. The word spoken...concerning thy servant, concerning his house.
God is very concerned about the specifics! He has our best interest in his heart! He speaks the best instructions and aspirations about us/me his servant! A caring master! A caring Lord, that is completely hands on! He desires to be our helper, leader, ruler, king, and best friend!
God guides us by his spoken word! He communes with us in the most intimate way using the still small voice of his blessed word. His concern is not only for us/me as an individual but his love and concern reaches my house. Every soul is worthy of his love and direction. God is concerned about me and my house.
3. establish it forever, and do as thou hast said.
David shows us a great example of how to deal with the overpowering Love of God. the example is this; God speaks, we listen, we say in response "establish it forever, and do as thou hast said"
May we see this kind love demonstrated in our life and may we respond to God as David did as we cry back to God "establish it forever" and may we believe that He will "do as thou hast said" in our daily life
