Sitting Before The Lord 2

2 Samuel 7:19
And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and is this the manner of man, O Lord God?

Sitting in the presence of the Lord is an awesome thing! We begin to see our self as unworthy creatures. Yet God speaks his love towards us! He issues a great decree to David about the future of his prodigy!

1. A small thing in thy sight!
David realizes that his God is a huge God! He can speak things to us that in the human mind is not comprehendable! He can plan out His map of the future for our life and that of our families to the point it is beyond any thought we could possibly have.

God wants to do mighty thing with us and our families! His aspirations for us are gigantic in scope to our feeble abilities. God chooses to do for us things we can not do for ourselves.

When we have revealed to us the bigness of God we see that all the God wants to do for us is a "small thing in his sight."

2. Thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come.
We would do well to remember that God is concerned about the present for us and is in the business of working in the future! God needs no concept of time! He is Eternal!

God has a plan for us now! He also has a plan for our family (even the family of God...His Church) for the rest of humanly time! God is a long range forecaster and he is 100% right all the time!

What is God speaking about your family for a great while to come?

3. And is this the manner of man, O Lord God?
David is taken back! He is astonished at the revelation that God has dumped in his path! When we sit with the Lord we too will realize that when God speaks to us it is NOT like any casual conversation we have ever had with mere mortal man!

Now go in and sit a little while with the Lord Today!
