Psalm 32:7
Thou art my hiding place; thous shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! Ready or not here I come! A few weeks ago I got to play hide and seek with my grand children. They loved it! I did too! I noticed that the kids would go to the same hiding place every time. They would pick the biggest tree in the lot and hide behind it. I wonder if the writer had the same idea that my grand children when he penned these thoughts!
Thou art my hiding place;
I believe God put within our human soul the desire to be able to get away from the grind of everyday life. There are times in my life where I do not want to get out of bed, I would rather pull the covers over my head and forget that the world is out there waiting to take a bite out of my hide!
As a Christian we have such a place. In the embrace of close intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that a lot of Christians fail to develop a working relationship with God, They use their childhood right to speak to the Lord, but fall short of finding the warm hug of the mercy of the Lord. When you get to be involved in a personal, deep, and loving relationship with God, our cry will be the echo of the writer... "Thou art my hiding place."
Thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
The T.V. show Hee - Haw, had a song within the lyrics: "Gloom, despair, and agony on me! Most people feel this sentiment in varying degrees. The blessed child of God will come to realize that they were wonderfully preserved from so much trouble. The protection that God envelops around his own, is perfect! He, as a loving Father, steps in at the right moment to shield us from the daily troubles we face. In eternity future, we will see the trouble that was averted for us by God. What a powerful, comforting declaration. "Thou shalt preserve me from trouble;"
Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
As I work with soldiers, I see the instructors using cadences (songs) to motivate and encourage them to fight on. Some of the cadences are designed to help them remember the training they receive. The sweetness of this verse is that God, will in fact compass us. The blessing is to be surrounded with the assurance that God is with us! Praise His Name!
The songs we hear in out soul is one that God continually delivers us. He sings sweet messages that he loves and protects, and saves, and delivers. For me this is the sweetest songs to hear!
Where is your hiding place? (God), Thou art my hiding place!
