Blessed Is!

Psalm1:1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, not sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

What position should I as a christian assume when it comes to dealing with the sinful world?

We live in a world that glorifies sin and self righteousness! We are bombarded with images that tempt our flesh and minds! We are constantly undergoing a brain washing to adapt to the ways of the world.

God has placed us in this time to function among the sinful! We must seek a balance that is tilted towards the things of God and away from the lust of the world! We are in a struggle, to say the least.

The Psalmist gives us a formula for success in this world and in the realm of the godly!

Blessed is the man.

Every born again child of God should work and strive hard to be a blessed man! Life is not worth living if we can not achieve a goal or reach some milestone in our life. We must seek approval and recognition from a source that is greater than we are. For the man of God that comes in the form of blessings from his creator.

The pronouncement that the man is blessed is beyond comprehension. It carries the thought of tangible reward. The prise awarded and received! Recognition and accolades for a job well done!

That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.

Christians have an advantage over the lost, we have the Bible, The Word of God! to guide us and counsel us. We need not seek advise from ungodly men in any area of our life. A Christian is different, and operates in another world while living in this present world! Christians are not their own, they were redeemed with a price! God purchased us back to His own!

God expects His children to be the advise givers and not the advise takers when it comes to this sinful world! We are CHRISTIAN.... Little Christ's, reflecting the image of Christ to a world in desperate need of salvation.

Nor standeth in the way of sinners.

Christians should never partner with the lost, That alliance will lead the Christian down a long hurtful road that will separate us from the truth. We should never consider the offers that sinners make to us.

Christians should never adopt the methods of the sinful! We should always set the bar for them to aspire to not the other way around. It is easy for a christian to sleaze down to the level of sinners and it is impossible for a sinner to attain the level of the godly. Only through the relationship we are given at salvation, we Christians succeed.

Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Basically we need to be reminded where we came from and where we would be at if it were not for the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to steer clear of belly aching because we did not get our way! We should be very careful to criticize others.

Christians should be careful not to join in the dog pile of accusations. We should strive to not be scornful, but thankful! Grateful for all and not unsatisfied!
