Preserve Me!

Psalm 16:1
Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

If you read my blog, it will not be surprising that I spend a lot of time defining words. I love the King James Version of the Bible. The richness of the words is worth the effort to study them for deeper meanings. I find that by knowing these definitions I see many applications to the situations of life.

Strong concordance gives the following for the word Preserve:

to keep, guard, observe, give heed, have charge of, guard, keep watch and ward, protect, wait for, retain, treasure up (in memory), restrain, celebrate, keep, perform, preserve,

By taking just a few of these defining words, and substituting them for the word preserve it opens up so much in the meaning of this simple prayer. For instance;

"Keep me, O God:
"Guard me, O God:
"Observe me, O God:
"Have charge of me, O God:
"Protect me, O God:

It is no wonder the Psalmist in close relationship with God, Almighty prayed such simple prayers. I desire my personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ becomes one that when I speak a few words, they (the words) would speak volumes in the ears of God.

For in thee do I put my trust.

When we realize just how deep and strong the Love of God has for us, we would be more than excited about banking all of our trust in Him who loves us so much

I stand amazed in the Love of God for me! So once again I echo this simple prayer!
Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
